I wanted to make a robot to print chalk on concrete and pavement. It started with a simple idea and cascaded into a monster. More info to follow soon.
This is a dual color peristaltic pump assembly with a z-axis and contact switch to allow the head to travel along uneven surfaces while printing each row of a piece. Everything was printed FDM on a markforged 3D printer.
I used large electric skateboard wheels to support the system. Everything is self contained including batteries and motor controllers.
There was A Lot of wiring on this system. It took a couple days of effort to get everything full operational and debugged. Raspberry Pi running mainsail with a 3D printer control board and stepper drivers.
