Space Based Infrared Surveillance
I worked on the design of the toggle clamp system for the IR cameras. It utilized a dual paraffin actuator to ensure the doors would open in space. SDRC IDEAS modelling/simulation and mechanical testing.
Advanced Extremely High Frequency
I made a test fixture to test deployment of the solar arrays. We were in a time crunch, so I managed to get something put together over a long holiday weekend using a 8020 extruded tubing.
Advanced Propulsion System
Next generation propulsion for spacecraft. Developed a long travel constant force vertical offloading system as well as autonomous robotic horizontal offloaders. Developed a bare metal multi-axis motion control system, CanBus communications system, sized motors/gearboxes, and designed complete electrical systems with sensors.
